Good Night's Sleep

We had such a good night last night!! First, we went to eat dinner at Five Guys Burgers and Fries in Trussville, and then we walked up and down the shopping center since the weather was so nice!! We then got a treat at Starbucks, and then since Jack was still napping, Mommy and Daddy got to sit and watch a movie once we got home! Jack woke back up to eat at midnight, then slept until 6 before eating again! He then fell back asleep until 10! What a sweet boy letting Mommy and Daddy sleep! :). Hopefully today will be just as good!

Also, update on Kurt's job situation... We found out he did not get the job at the church. So we are pretty disappointed about this, but we know God has something better in store for us! Please keep praying for God to provide us with another great opportunity!

3 Weeks Already!

Jack is 3 weeks old already! We can't believe how fast time has flown by and how big he has gotten! We had his 2 week check-up this past week and they wanted him to at least be back up to his birth weight, and he was at 9 lbs! He showed them! :-) So, obviously he and mommy are doing something right with nursing!

He has been such a good baby, too! He sleeps at night except when it's time to eat, so mommy and daddy are actually getting some sleep! We are loving being parents and are so blessed to have Jack here with us now! He's so healthy and so happy and we are soaking up every minute of these precious days!

Jack has already had some adventures in his first 3 weeks of life, too! He went to daddy's softball game last week, and he's gone bowling twice! He was so good on all 3 occasions, and no one could believe he was just 3 weeks old! :-) He even had his first "real" bath this morning in his baby bathtub (borrowed from Blakely, thanks!), and he did so well and got so clean!

Aside from sweet baby talk...Kurt's still looking for a job, so please keep us in your prayers. He heard back from the church last week, and they said they will make a final decision this coming week, so we will see! If that doesn't work out, he is still getting a bunch of calls from recruiters about other positions, so hopefully something will work out soon!

Enjoy some new pictures on our Webshots page.

Jackson Scott Branch

Jack is here!! Jackson Scott Branch was born on Friday, June 26 at 10:31 am. He weighed 7 lbs, 12 oz and was 19 3/4 in long. He is absolutely perfect and we are so blessed to have such a miracle in our lives now!

We apologize for getting our blog out so late, but we have had our hands full with our sweet little man, but most of you already know all this info anyway! We have posted hundreds of pictures since Jack's birth on our Webshots page. You can also click Jack's handsome face above to see them all. Check them out when you get a chance. Kurt has posted them by days and usually updates them at least once every day.

Jack had his first pediatrician appointment this past Tuesday and everything went well! He had to get his heel pricked, and I think mommy cried more than he did, but we both survived in the end. They also weighed him, and he weighed 7 lbs 7 oz, which was 1 oz higher than on Sunday when we left the hospital. Our next check-up is July 15th, so please be praying that goes well and he gets back up to his birth weight by then.

Please also be praying about Kurt's job situation. He has been given some contract work through the church, so that's at least good until he gets a firm answer from them on the full time position. He did email his would-be boss on Thursday to see if there were any updates on the position, so hopefully we will hear something soon.

Thank you all for the prayers while we were pregnant with Jack! I had a great pregnancy, and even better delivery! God was in charge the whole time and made everything go so smoothly! We praise Him for everything and are so grateful His Hand was over us the entire time.

We love yall so much and will try to do better with our updates.
