Alana and Patrick's Wedding

Yesterday, May 29th, one of my best friends Alana Craig married Patrick Thompson in one of the prettiest weddings I've ever seen (after my own of course!) :-) I was one of her bridesmaids and loved being a part of all the fun festivities all weekend!

Friday at noon was her beautiful Bridesmaids Luncheon at her mom's house. Everything was so elegant and the food was delicious. All of us girls were very appreciative for everything Alana and her mother did for us.

Later that night we had the Rehearsal at the Sonnet House, then the Rehearsal Dinner at the Vestavia Country Club. The food there was delicious, too, and we all had a great time reminiscing and listening to stories of Alana and Patrick growing up. (Thanks to Mama Becky and Daddy Mer for keeping Jack so we could go by ourselves!)

Saturday came with heavy storms, but thank goodness the sun came out around lunchtime! Alana was nervous about the weather, but she held it in well and was pretty calm throughout the day! She was one of the prettiest brides I've ever seen, even with just her hair and makeup done! Of course, once she put on her dress, she was even more gorgeous! She just looked perfect!

Brittney and Jack. She flew in from LA for the wedding! It was so good to see her!

Mama missed her boy all day! It was so great to hold him and show him off! :-)

Yes, I missed Kurt too. Isn't the background beautiful?

Not the best picture of Patrick, but I at least wanted to get a picture of them in front of the pretty cake!

Another family photo. I was a little picture happy all night!

After Papa and Grandmama Sherry came to pick Jack up to take him home and put him to bed. We missed him, but we enjoyed visiting with friends the rest of the night. We appreciate them keeping him!

I know this wasn't just a blog about Jack, but it was a big event that happened to us, and Alana is one of my best friends, so I wanted to be sure to add it.

Thanks again for a great weekend, Alana! We are so excited for you and Patrick and we love y'all very much!

Pool Fun!

Jack had his first pool experience last weekend with Mommy, Daddy, and our friends Eric and Leah. It was around 9:00 am, so the water hadn't heated up much yet, and it was still a little cold. It was almost too cold for Mommy to get in, but Jack liked it more than we thought he would!

Here is a cute video with Eric and Leah narrating...

After the raft didn't last too long, we tried playing with the ball.

After we tried the big pool, we thought we'd try the baby pool out in the front yard, but after all the work it took to get it filled with water, he didn't like it much, either, and lasted less than a minute!

Daddy's Birthday!

Kurt's 28th Birthday was May 19th and we got to celebrate with a lot of family and friends! We celebrated with my mom's side of the family the Sunday before his birthday, my dad's side yesterday, and with our friends (and Uncle Clay) the day after his birthday. Here are some pictures from Firebirds where we went out with our friends.

Kurt's birthday cake from TCBY. It was yogurt, so his diet allowed a few bites!

Jack loved celebrating with his daddy.

Our friends Keith and Lindsey came out and brought their sweet baby Sawyer! He's 6 weeks old now!

Mommy and Daddy's Night Out

A couple of Friday nights ago, Kurt and I went out to the Tim McGraw and Lady Antebellum concert! The tickets were originally for my mom and stepdad (for my mom's Mother's Day present), but 5 weeks ago she broke her left ankle, so she wasn't feeling up to going. Instead of selling the tickets, Kurt decided to take me for my Mother's Day present. So sweet!

Our friends Keith and Lindsey also went, so it was good to see them and catch up some. They enjoyed having a date night out as well. We couldn't remember the last time the 4 of us were together without a baby with us! We missed our little guys, but we enjoyed the time away.

The concert was so awesome and we had a great time! Thanks to Granna for keeping little Jack for us! Date night was great! :-)

First Golf Tournament

The 2010 Regions Charity Classic at Ross Bridge in Birmingham was a couple of weeks ago, and Jack's sweet Auntie Em was able to give us free tickets to go on Thursday and Sunday.

Thursday was the Celebrity Pro Am, so we definitely didn't want to miss that day! Jack got to go on his first bus ride, then we started the tournament out by watching the putting challenge with Gene Chizik, Bo Jackson, Anthony Grant, and Jay Barker.

After the putting challenge, we went down to visit Auntie Em at the Nike tent where she was working. It was already really hot at 9:30 am, so we made sure Jack stayed cool in front of the big fan! :-)

We then headed over to see Charles Barkley and Tony Barbee's group. It was fun to see celebrities play golf, but also to finally see Charles's terrible golf swing in person!!

While watching Charles and Tony tee off, someone offered us free tickets to the Regions tent, so we walked over there and got free food and drinks! There was also a place to look down over the 18th green, so we stayed in there for a while since we could sit down in a cool place and eat. Jack also enjoyed his first fruit bar!

It was then time for Uncle Clay to tee off! There was an open spot for someone to play with the Pro Dan Forsman, so Emily pulled some strings and got Clay to play! He did really well, and Mr. Forsman was actually the winner of the whole tournament! Clay must have really influenced him. Way to go Uncle Clay!

Sweet little angel did so well the whole time, but by the time we got back to the bus to go home, he was exhausted and fell asleep in my arms. We had a lot of fun!
