It's Another Boy!!!

Yes, Baby Branch 2 is a boy!! We are so excited and can't wait to meet the little guy, and we are glad Jack will have a buddy to play with!

We had our ultrasound on April 12th, and everything looked great with him and me! He was measuring 3 days early, but they are still leaving my due date at September 11th.  He moved around a lot and looked so cute, even in black and white! :-)  Here are some pictures:

This is the "It's a Boy!" picture!  The very top is a leg, then not a leg, then another leg!  Ha!  That's what the ultrasound tech said when she told us he was a boy! :-)

His sweet foot!

Here he is looking at us!

After our doctor's appointment, we went to Mama Becky and Daddy Mer's house for supper and a small "gender reveal" party!  Kurt and I had bought two baby outfits the night before, one blue and one pink, then took both in the car with us to the doctor, then wrapped up the blue one for Jack to open in front of everyone before dinner.  He finally pulled out the blue outfit for everyone to see, and everyone was so excited, but also shocked!  Most everyone thought we were having a girl for sure since I had been so sick this pregnancy, but no, another healthy boy!!  We got to tell Jack he was getting a little brother!! So exciting!  Also, yes, my face is priceless in the 2nd picture!  Thanks Daddy Mer for capturing that!

Jack celebrated immediately with tacos!

Sisters! So glad Amy and her family could be there that night, too!

Jack is finally understanding how awesome it will be to have a little brother to play with!  Also, I'm sure you can tell in the pictures, but Jack had a bit of an accident earlier that day before the doctor's appointment.  He was running towards a baseball bat, tripped in his shoes on the carpet, and hit the corner of the wall head on, giving him a mini-gash and goose egg on his forehead, a bad scrape on his nose, and a busted upper lip!  Poor guy just wanted to play baseball!  Needless to say, it was very hard for his mommy and daddy to leave him after this, but thank goodness Mama Becky could take care of him and make him feel better!

We have pretty much decided to name the new baby Charles Coleman Branch and call him Charlie!  Coleman is a family name on both sides, plus Charles Coleman was Daddy Mer's granddad's name!  We didn't even know that until we came up with the name a few weeks ago!  It's so fun to call Charlie by name, and Jack can barely contain himself that he will be able to play baseball with Charlie someday!  Sweet brothers!

Easter Weekend 2012

We had so much fun this past Easter!  We had a very busy weekend with family and friends and have lots of pictures to show for it!

Jack and I started the festivities Friday morning by dyeing the deviled eggs I was making.  He helped me put the color tablet in the glass, fill it with water, then dip the eggs in there!  The hardest part for him was waiting for them to fully get colored before taking them back out!  He was such a good helper, though!

Later that night, we went over to Mama Becky and Daddy Mer's for dinner.  We had a delicious meal, and then several selections for dessert.  I had personally brought over s'mores for the kids, and even tried out blue peeps to make them Easter s'mores, and they were a hit.  Jake, Brooke, and Blakely at least loved them, but Jack didn't understand what to do with the marshmallow being blue.

After dessert, MB and DM gave all the kids their Easter bags.  Jack got lots of goodies, and he especially loved his ring pop.  He even held it high for everyone to see.

Saturday morning we had Jack's friend Sawyer's 2nd birthday party. It was held at a fire station that also had a pavilion and park behind it.  We had a great time and we are so excited for Sawyer that he is now in the cool 2 year olds club.

The birthday boy!

Jack got to try out the hat and truck too!

After the party, we went over to Papa and Sherbo's for lunch.  We had another delicious meal, plus Jack got another Easter bag from Papa and Sherbo. He got more wonderful things to play with and of course eat!

The preschool cousins sitting at their cute picnic table!

Sister and brother picture!

Time to go hunt for Easter eggs!

Now enough with the Easter eggs, it's time to play!

Papa, Sherbo, and the kids (minus Abby who was napping!)

Easter morning!  Jesus is Risen!  We enjoyed so much explaining to Jack this year about Jesus dying for our sins and then rising from the dead!  He learned more in Sunday School that morning, too, and kept telling everyone that day "Jesus is Alive!"  Yes he is buddy!

That morning before church, though, we did show him that the Easter Bunny came to see him! He loved going through his basket to see all the new goodies and candy!  We even let him have some candy before his real breakfast.  I guess that's allowed on Easter and Christmas, right?

Sweet boy in his Easter outfit!

After church we had lunch at Mama Becky and Daddy Mer's house!  We didn't think it was possible 3 times in one weekend, but yes, we had another great meal, and more Easter fun with family!

Loving on Daddy Mer

We left him alone for one minute, and he got a hold of the Redi-Whip can!

We had such a wonderful time with everyone and we are so grateful for all of our meals and Jack's gifts, and especially for God's Love for us!

Here is a video from that weekend!

Busy Auburn Weekend

Two weekends ago, we went to Auburn and had a very busy weekend!  We had lots to do and only 3 days to do it, but we had a great time!

On Friday, we got down there early enough to go to Granna's school and see all the big kids!  Granna loves to show off Jack to all her teacher friends, and he did most of his tricks for them, especially the ones that show off how smart he is!

We later had dinner at Granna and Poppy's house, then went to the baseball game against Mississippi State, or as Jack called them, "Busy Stake." By the end of the weekend, though, he was able to say their name correctly after Daddy worked with him a while.  Auburn lost the game Friday night, but we will just blame it on the wet fields since it rained hard before and during the game.

We were staying at the condo, and Jack definitely needed a bath after all the playing he did all day, but for some reason he wanted a bath in the sink like he'd done when he was younger!  He barely fit, but looked so cute!  Later that night, after he fell asleep, we also got a cute picture of him spread out in the crib! He looked so big!

Saturday morning was the annual Lion's Club pancake breakfast!  We love the pancakes there and couldn't wait to go.  We got there around 8:30 and Granna and Ashley joined us. It was hard to believe this was Ashley's first time to go!  Everything was so delicious and we had a great time!  Kurt and I left around 9 to head to his Mud Mania 5K run.  He has been working out so hard the last couple of years that he felt it was finally time to do an officiall race, so he picked a messy and disgusting one for his first time! He did really well, though and came in 159th place out of 1098 people! That's awesome! While we were at the race, Granna and Ashley had taken Jack across the street from the pancake breakfast to "Garden in the Park" and he got to play baseball and bounce in a bouncy house! He had a blast!

After the race, we met everyone back at Granna's house, then headed to Moe's for lunch for Kurt's celebratory meal!  He hadn't had Moe's in 3 months during his P90X2 diet and workouts so he definitely deserved it!

We let Jack nap for a couple hours after lunch, then went to the afternoon baseball game.  We got to see Pops at this game so Jack loved being with him and watching baseball.  Auburn won this game, too!

On Sunday we went to the Auburn campus of Church of the Highlands, then went to the baseball game at 1:00.  Jack enjoyed a yummy ring pop and we were glad to see Auburn win again!  They won the series against Mississippi State!  War Eagle!
