Park fun with Hunter

Last week we were able to go to lunch with my friend Shelley and her little boy Hunter, and then we went to the park. We went to the Leeds park, and Kurt has taken Jack there before, but I haven't, so it was fun to see how happy he was since it's such a big park!

He ran as fast as he could to get there...

maybe too fast...

but he finally made it!

He and Hunter had a blast swinging together!

Jack climbed and went down the big boy slide all by himself, and loved it! So proud!

Sawyer's 1st Birthday Party

This past weekend we went to Jack's first birthday party for a friend! Our friends Lindsey and Keith's little boy Sawyer turns 1 today (Happy Birthday!), and his party was Saturday at Spain Park. It was such a beautiful day for a party outside, and we were glad to be able to go!

When we got there we visited around with everyone and eventually had some snacks, but before long it was time for Sawyer's "dive" into his cupcake! Lindsey make a giant cupcake just for him, and it looked delicious! It took a little time for him to realize what to do, but he eventually dove right in and loved it!

While Sawyer got his cake, everyone else got to enjoy cupcakes, too! Daddy and Jack helped themselves to a yummy green one!

Here is sweet Sawyer opening his presents! He got so many wonderful things!

Jack got a little anxious and wanted to go slide and swing, so Daddy walked over there with him to let him play.

Sweet birthday boy is not far from walking on his own! Big boy!

Shelley and her little boy Hunter made it, too! Here he is enjoying his party favor bag! Who needs the candy in it, he loved just chewing on the bag! I can't believe he's already 7 months!

Jack was pretty thirsty after playing so hard, plus eating his 2 cupcakes! Yep, 2! He sure did love them, but did have some help from Daddy! :-)

Thanks so much to Lindsey and Keith for inviting us to their little man's birthday party! We had a blast, and we are so glad Sawyer has had a great 1st year! He's so happy and healthy, and they are so blessed like us to have an amazing son! :-)

Trip to Hartselle

Last Tuesday Jack and I went to Hartselle with Mama Becky, Aunt Deena, and cousin Blakely to see our Mimi. It had been a while since we'd been able to go up and see her, so we were glad to have the opportunity. Deena and Blakely were in town while Uncle Jim was in Texas for work, so we were glad to play with them all day too.

When we got there, Mama Becky got out her basket of toys and Jack and Blakely had the best time playing with them together.

Once they got bored with those toys, Deena and I took them outside to play with the big blue ball we brought from our house. Mimi has a big driveway and yard, so they had a blast having a lot of places to run and play! Jack even tried to shoot the ball in the tall basketball goal!

Inside Poppy's study is the growth chart they've had for several years! I even remember getting measured on that when I was a little girl! We measured Jack and Blakely, and they are pretty close to the same height! Blakely has him by a couple of inches, though!

When we got back from Hartselle, we all went to Newk's for dinner (plus Daddy Mer), then we went to Yogurt Mountain for dessert. Jack ate his whole supper, plus most of the yogurt! He's a growing boy!

We had such a fun day seeing Mimi, plus being with Mama Becky, Deena, and Blakely. Mimi was doing well, and we hope to go back to see her very soon!

Irondale Cafe

This past Sunday after church we went with Papa and Sherbo to the Irondale Cafe for lunch. It is known for its wonderful "down home Southern cooking", and is one of the best "meat and 3" places around town. In front of the cafe is the train stop, so we had a chance before and after lunch to show Jack the "choo choo trains"! While we were there, a conductor even opened his window to wave to Jack while blowing the horn! Jack had a blast watching the trains and playing around at the stop. Thanks Papa and Sherbo for such a fun and memorable afternoon! :-)

My Daddy and Me

Jack's favorite book these days is "My Daddy and Me" by Tina Macnaughton. He got it for Christmas from Mama Becky and Daddy Mer, and he loves us to read it to him every night, and of course multiple times. The other night's reading turned out a little different, though... Check it out! :-)
