We took Jack to see Madagascar 3 at the movie theater a few weeks ago when it first came out, and we just knew he'd sit there the whole time and watch it since he loved the first 2 movies so much. Wow, we were definitely wrong on that! The downfall was him seeing the video games and racing games at the theater as we were walking in, so he kept asking to play "toys" during the whole movie and he didn't have any desire to actually watch the movie! We even had popcorn and Sprite for him, but we had to take him out to play 3-4 times, and when we brought him back in to watch the movie, he just wanted to play on the stairs or the seats behind us. Needless to say, it wasn't the best experience we've ever had, but now we know he's not ready to go see movies yet! At least we made some memories trying!
I had my 10 year high school reunion earlier this month here in Birmingham, and it was an all-weekend affair! Our first event was Friday night at The Wine Loft in downtown, and it was a very nice place! It was fun to see so many people again after 10 years, and we all seemed to have a lot to catch up on.
Here is a picture with my friend David Romine from high school and his brand new wife Ashley! We enjoyed talking to them all night, and they even invited us up to stay with them in Hilton Head (where they live!), so we are getting to go in August before Charlie arrives!
Saturday was the family picnic at Overton Park at lunchtime. We were glad we could take Jack to this event and show him off! I'm sure some of my classmates have seen his pictures on Facebook, but those don't do him justice since you can't see his awesome personality in a picture! We had fun eating, playing on the playground, and playing baseball. It was great seeing the other children of some of my classmates, plus seeing how everyone interacted together!

Saturday night was the main event and it was held at Rogue Tavern, also in downtown. We had heavy hors d'oeuvres, plus there was a dj so of course there was dancing, and we all just chatted and mingled around with everyone all night! At one point we watched a slideshow of pictures from everyone back in high school, so that was fun and exciting to reminisce, plus we did a "Who's Who" vote towards the end and handed out certificates.

We had a great time with everyone and I was so impressed with how well Kurt did with people he didn't know! I'd say he was definitely the best looking spouse there, so it was too bad they didn't hand out that award! We appreciate Mama Becky and Daddy Mer for keeping Jack Friday and Saturday nights for us so we could go have some fun!
Daddy turned 30 on May 19! We had a great time celebrating all weekend! On Friday, we had some friends and family over to celebrate and had Moe's catered in! Moe's Southwest is by far one of Daddy's favorite places to eat, so we couldn't think of anything better to have for his party. We also got him a Dairy Queen cake (a tradition started by his mama), and found some very tall "30" candles for him to blow out!
On Saturday we headed up to Nashville with our friends Randy and Kendall. Nashville is one of our favorite towns and we had a great time walking around, eating, and listening to all the country music up there. We went to a nice cantina restaurant that night, and they gave Kurt a free chocolate cake with firecracker candles!
I'd say he had a pretty good birthday, even though we had some very important things stolen out of our car that weekend (long, horrible story), but we are thankful to have our Daddy to celebrate him! We wish him many more birthdays to come! We love you, Daddy!
Back at the end of April, we took a spontaneous trip down to Lake Martin with our friends Keith and Lindsey and their little boy Sawyer. They were so sweet to invite us and we had a great time! We got there late Friday night, and then played all day Saturday on the boat and in the water. We found this little island that had a beach, so we knew the boys would have a blast there. The water was pretty chilly, but you'd never know it by the way Jack was swimming in it! He's our little fishy and does so well in his floaties!
He just LOVES riding on the boat! He likes to stand up the whole time and just look out at the water. He definitely gets his love for boat riding from his mommy! I could stay out on a boat all day!
That night after supper we gave the boys a bath together! They had a great time splashing each other and playing with Sawyer's bath toys. Jack's favorite toy was the water gun, and he even had the "I'll kill you if you take this away from me" look to Sawyer, when it was even Sawyer's toy! Too funny! Silly boys!
Sunday morning Daddy and Keith played golf at AU Club in Auburn, so Lindsey and I took the boys to the Hickory Dickory Park to play until it was time to meet the daddies for lunch. We ate at the Auburn Oyster Bar, then decided to go to the baseball game since they were playing at home. As soon as we got there, Jack got to see Aubie, and he picked Jack up for the picture! You can tell Jack loved that! He also thought it was very funny Aubie tried to drink from his sippy cup!
After the game, we went to see Granddaddy, Granny, and Pops to play for a little bit before heading home. Jack loves just sitting with Granddaddy, and of course eating Kit Kats!
Sweet boy was exhausted and fell asleep on the way home! That's what playing hard all day without a nap will do to you!
Before we got home, we met Mama Becky and Daddy Mer at Outback for supper. Daddy Mer is always good at taking random pictures, and I'm so glad he took this one because it turned out really cute!
We had such a great weekend, especially since we didn't even know we were going to the lake and Auburn until we decided to go last minute! I'm so glad we did because we had a great time with friends and family and made some great memories!
Back in April (yes, I'm still way behind on blogs!), Jack and I went to see The Fresh Beat Band in concert at the BJCC! They are a music group on Nick Jr. and he loves them so much! We enjoyed our little mommy/son date and we definitely made some great memories! I videotaped him singing and dancing to some of their songs, and you can tell Mommy got into it as much as he did!
